I have a canaker sore in my n=mouth i am using magic mouthwash, I used nystatin and also camphophiniques. Just read that peppermint oil that I use for my IBS causes Canker sores, I have a wedding in a few days should i stop the peppermint oil immediately for the canker sores to heap up comoletely
Mouth ulcers can occur due to a number of causes and many a times even without any specific known underlying cause.. Using peppermint oil is not seen to cause mouth ulcers rather it is observed that application of peppermint oil over the mouth ulcers has a soothing effect over the ulcers and will help in reducing inflammation and pain.. So I do not think that Peppermint oil is causing mouth ulcers.. There can be other causes like Vitamin B 12 deficiency, stress, acid reflux, digestive issues etc that can commonly cause mouth sores.. You should consult an Oral Physician who can examine you and rule out the cause.. For now start taking a Vitamin B complex and sine supplement daily and do warm saline gargles..
Wait and watch for a week and hopefully the sores will get resolved gradually..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
