Yes, thank you. I am 68, exercise regularly, score in the low-risk category on cholesterol, did fine, according to my doctor, on a stress test I took last month, and have a reasonably healthy diet. But each of my three brothers have had varying issues of heart disease, with one having a blockage and open-heart surgery. That factor and my CT calcium scan scoring of 277 persuaded the doctor (a cardiologist referred to me by my GP doctor) to prescribe a daily regimen for me of 20 mg rosuvastin plus aspirin. Two weeks into this and I incurred muscle pain in my left leg, some cramping and weight gain. (1) Could my CT scan scoring have been incorrect? and (2) If accurate, weighing the positive health factors against the risk factors, would it be reasonable for me to stop taking the stain altogether, and perhaps revisit this question in five years or so? The muscle pain has impacted my daily life in knee bends in my weight training/gym sessions, my yoga, and squatting at the pool to do my swim laps. ( I swim for 25 min. five days a week, do yoga for an hour 3 times a week, and one hour of a gym session 2 or 3 days a week.) I appreciate your observations and guidance on this. Phil Rhoads.
