How Can Muscle Spasms In The Wrist Be Treated?

I had carpel tunnel surgery on my right hand about 8 years ago. I was chipping away and some ice on the driveway today and tonight my wrist (area of incision) has a hot poker spasm sensation. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do to relieve the pain and/or sensation?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,my name is dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.
Some advices that I can give to you are:
Use nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen and diclofenac, for example), can alleviate pain related to inflammation
-Take breaks from activities that strain the wrist, and bend the wrist every so often.
-Adjust the work area to prevent strain on joints
-Exercise the joints
-Use ergonomic tools that can put less pressure on your joints.
Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other question Ill be glad to help.
Regards,
