Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 60 year old woman, I have what I believe are myoclonic jerks. My head will either drop forward or to one side very quickly then return upright. This happens up to 40 times an hour. There is no pain or after effects involved. I also have jerks where I will almost (full body) jump forward. Should I be worried enough to see a Neurologist?
Thanks for writing to HealthCareMagic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.
This can be a jerk or it can me your semi circular canals in middle year acting funny i would suggest you to visit your doctor as soon as possible so that proper checkup and testing can be done to diagnose your problem.
After diagnosis it can be treated accordingly. Usually balance of head is kept by semicircular canals so they have to be checked.
I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.
Regards.
