How Can Nasal Congestion Be Treated?

I have had a stuffy nose for 10 months??? not seasonal allergies. tried pills--allegra, claritin, Flonase spray, not much help. 30 years ago I had allergy tests and cattle hair, lint were issues. anything you can suggest before I find an allergist for tests?

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Well other than allergies nasal congestion can be due to other causes like sinus congestion or Sinusitis whole nasal polyps can also be a cause..

So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency room and get a clinical examination done..
Appropriate investigation like blood test and nasal Endoscopy can be advised to you so that the exact cause can be ruled out and treated accordingly..

If it is allergic then anti allergics and steroid nasal sprays can help..
If it is due to sinus infections then antibiotics and decongestants can be advised..

Hope this helps..

Regards .
