How Can Nasal Congestion Be Treated?

I had B-Influenza 8 weeks ago and all what is left is a terrible nasal congestion only at night when I want to sleep in my bed. ButI can t sleep in my bed I have to sit straight up in a chair. I don t have a sinus infection, I am checked for this. Is there any help? I use 2 times a day Flonase but it doesn t seem to help and steam baths too. I can t cough ever, so I can t get it out that way. I would be happy to hear suggestions from you. Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I can understand your concern. As per your history the congestion maybe due to the influenza infection. So I would suggest you to use Nasoclear nasal drops. take saline nebulization or steam inhalation for two to three times a day. keep warm yourself. Drink lot of water or fluids. Maintain proper hygiene. Take proper rest.

Thank you.

Take care.
