Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am primary caregiver to my business partner who had a stroke in January if 2016. He had cataract surgery in July of 2016. He has some puss in his eyes from time to time, it seems to correlate to when he is not moving around much or is constipated. My sense is his system is backing up which may be exacerbating a low level nasal infection. We are curious how to treat such. Previously we used tibramycin which was prescribed previously for pink eye. He is fifty nine years of age. Thank you.
Thanks for your query . There can be many reasons for nasal infection as you mention like upper respiratory track infection , post nasal drip and sinisitis. Sometimes infection persist even after completing antibiotics course or there can be other factors which are playing role like acid reflux disease .
I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper evaluation of the condition . Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test and test to check acidic content of esophagus. Doctor may prescribe antibiotic course for throat . For now do warm saline gargle several times a day and drink warm water having one spoon of honey twice a day .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
