How Can Nose Bleeds While Sneezing Or Blowing The Nose Be Stopped?

started 3 days ago. When I cough or sneeze 7 or 8 times in a row, nose starts bleeding but not for long. Sometime short chest pain. Nose will bleed if I ever attempt to blow it. Have been drinking plenty of water but just no hungry as usual. Have not taken any pills, only night time severe for cough and flu.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Nosebleeds are caused due to fragile blood vessels in an area called 'Little's area' in the nose.

Since you are having repeatedly and is associated with other symptoms, you need to consult ENT specialist for clinical evaluation.

You might require cauterization of fragile arteries along with certain medications like antihistamines and decongestants.

Kindly consult ENT specialist for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
