How Can Numbness And Itchiness In The Nipple Be Treated?

51 year old female. Still menstruating regularly. Two months right nipple very itchy. No rash, no discoloration, no discharge of any sort, no pain, no lumps, bumps or puffiness. Just itchy. Recently discovered this nipple is also quite numb while left nipple is just as sensitive as always. Previously they had been equally sensitive. What might be going on here?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It could be a mild form of dermatitis like inflammation. You can be prescribed an oral antihistaminic drug like Levocetirizine.

If no improvement than consult a nearby physician for detailed evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami,
