How Can Numbness In The Ear Along With Hearing Loss Be Treated?

Hi , I woke up today and my left ear feels numb , I also have some hearing loss. I tested this by snapping my finger on both of my ears. My left ear heard the sound less. I don t have any pain nor itching just bad hearing and numbness , what do u think I should do?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have numbness in the ear along with hearing loss which occurs probably due to chances that you have punctured your eardrum and secondly you have severe infection in your ear. I would suggest you to avoid pricking ear with any sharp object and apply warm compresses on ear. You should consult ENT specialist again for proper examination. Doctor may order certain tests like CT scan and examine ear with otoscope. Doctor may prescribe stronger antibiotics at least or 10 days along with anti inflammatory , antiallergic and analgesic . Doctor may also recommend you patching of eardrum, tympanoplasty and hearing aid.
