Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I had a pinched nerve in my lower back that caused my left leg and and left foot to go numb. After some time, the numbness in my leg is better but the numbness in my foot is getting worse AND my foot is always cold. Have I damaged the nerve(s) beyond repair?
We can't tell you whether nerve damage is reversible or irreversible without nerve conduction studies. To do that, you need to go to a neurologist and they will do it. But for now, to heal that nerve injury, you can take nerve growth factors or vitamin B12 tablets for nerves to heal.
They do heal the nerves soon. So, if you don't have more pain then go for above tablets. If you have more pain or numbness is increasing then go to a neurologist for nerve studies.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
