How Can Osteoarthritis And Carpal Tunnel Pain Be Alleviated?

I have Osteo arthritis and carpal tunnel in my hand right below my thumb in both hands. What is the best way to alleviate the pain. I am taking naproxen when it very band and using ice pack. I am in administration and type most of the day, how can I keep it from getting worse?

The use of a splint at nights for 3 to 4 weeks may also help in relieving your symptoms.
Weight loss of any excess weight may also be helpful because in some cases the weight can contribute to compression of the nerves. Any exercises that put strain on the wrists should be avoided (cycling, stationary biking).

If these are not effective, you may need surgical intervention to relieve the pressure on the nerve.
You should discuss this option with your doctor.
