Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How often is this being prescribed for osteo-arthritis? I have severe osteo- arthritis in many joints and wish I could find something to slow its progress. My doctor tells me the same thing as another well-known rheumatologist did more than 30 years ago: there is nothing to slow down osteo-arthritis. It is hard to believe that with so many advances in the medical field, there have been no new treatments for this common and debilitating disease ! I take celebrex and get cortisone injections into various joints from time to time. Beverly YYYY@YYYY

How Can Osteoarthritis Be Treated?
Hello, Osteoarthritis is an age-related and progressive disorder of joints. Its true there is no treatment for osteoarthritis. The symptoms can be relieved by physiotherapy and chondroitin sulfate. In later stage joint replacement can be done which has very good results. Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
