How Can Osteoporosis In The Hips Be Treated?

HI. I am 63 female. An having test to see if I have hyperparthyriodism. So far it looks very good that I do. High calcium level without taking calcium. pTH levels up have not heard about the urine calcium test. My bone density shows left hip is showing signs of osteo. Doctor is referring me to a bone treatment specilist since I can not take calcium. I have not heard from the endocrinologist yet. So my question is Can I eat these super food to help the bone , or should I stay away from calcium in foods also until my parathyroid is addressed ?

Hi,

The homeostasis of calcium and phosphate is directly related to parathyroid hormone functions.

So it is better to wait till the results of the lab reports turn out. Consume normal daily food till the reports without panic.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
