I m 54yrs old and I was born with Cerberal Palsy I recently found out I also have Osteoporosis Arthritis all in both legs. I m currently seeing an orthopedic Dr. My right knee is turning in when I walk causing my rt. Foot is turning over on the side which causes me to walk on the side of foot. Which is very painful. I m seeing an Orthopedic Dr. & I also go to an PT once a week for therapy. They have both told us that nothing will help me. I m taking the SynVisc shots for my Arthritis envery 6 mos. my dr tells me there s no surgery or brace that can help me. What would u suggest me to doc?
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Currently based on the situation you have describe of your foot turning in causing you walk on the side of your foot, it appears that deformity is worsening, if bracing has not helped in the past, I would recommend getting a Tripe Arthrodesis or maybe even pantalar arthrodesis to prevent further deformity of your foot. Those surgeries involved fusing of joints in your foot. It may improve your foot position when you walk and if the fusion is successful the foot won't turn over anymore.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Samuel Parmar
