How Can Pain After An Esophageal Dilation Procedure Be Treated?
my brother had esophageal dilation about 6 hours ago. He is still in severe pain and says it feels like spasms. He also has a hiatal hernia. his heart rate is slightly elevated , but no breathing trouble or fever. his abdomen is soft. This is the second dilation he s had. He ate lasagna when he got home and the pain started afterwards. Should he take a muscle relaxant or something else to relieve the pain?

welcome to hcm ..he should take smooth muscle relaxant as tab diltiazam 30 mg two times or tab nitroglycerine or isosorbide dinitrate 5 mg two times but before taking that please take care of bp as bp may fall
if the bp is in lower range or you have any cardiac problem then take tab aceclofenic 100 mg two times
take liquid diet for 2 or 3 days
