How Can Pain And Burning Sensation On The Knees Be Treated?

A little over a month ago I fell on some concrete steps. I landed directly on my right left with the edge of the step between my knee and skin. It bruised but since that has gone away. The only time I experience pain and burning is if I kneel down on that knee. I have been to my MD about it and they put me into a stabilizer brace, it did not help. They did take xrays and said it was not broke.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Two possibilities are there:
- First, there may no bleeding in the joint itself which causes persistent symptoms.
- Second there is inflammation of the joint capsule due to the injury.

To rule out bleeding, do knee MRI. If it is not there and also, no fracture there, then just start tablet Aceclofenac and tablet Chymoral Forte 12 hourly for 15 days.

Prevent full flexion (bending) of the knee, apply hot fomentation, do no lift heavy weight and don’t run during this period.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
