How Can Pain And Inflammation In The Feet Be Treated?

I had a biopsy on my foot 6 days ago. It was better from a soreness standpoint, but now my heel and foot hurt to stand on. It is also black. It doesn t smell and isn t too red, but the black and the pain make me worry. I have used mupirocin 2% 2x a day every day and kept it covered. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Dark discoloration can occur in response to trauma in any aspect of the body. If the pain is increasing instead of decreasing, then this would need to be assessed.

It would be best to be seen.

I hope this helps.
