How Can Pain And Swelling In The Buttocks Be Treated?

I fell hard on wet wooden steps and severely traumatized my right buttock. Very dramatic swelling pain and bruising for weeks but now no pain - only a cleft/lump combo that is very noticeable and has not improved or lessened even after all of the pain and bruising has gone. It is unsightly. Can anything be done? This event is two months ago now. Thanks for any suggestions

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Ice and/or heat. Applying ice can work as an anti-inflammatory to reduce swelling and pain. Initially, it’s better to apply ice or cold packs. After a couple days, ice or heat can be applied on an alternating basis. Applying continuous heat can cause increased swelling.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Rakesh Rai
