How Can Pain And Swelling In The Knee Be Treated?

Hi,i have a labrel tear in my right hip but my knee seems to be really affected by this,it now is always swollen looking,painfull when i walk and now i can feel it grinding as i move it,i have the hip injury 2 years and im still waiting to be seen,how much damage am i doing to my knee as a result.
