Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
1-1/2 weeks ago I hit my shin and have a bruise to my lower shin area and is swollen Am diabetic so went to see doctor. he gave me antibiotic pills (doxycycline hyclate 100mg). lower leg still hurting and changing color where bruised and swelling going to my ankle.
Hello, Sir Welcome to healthcaremagic. I can certainly understand your concern. I have worked through your query in detail.
I could understand that your bruise and swelling has not relieved with the course of antibiotic, so there is a possibility that in diabetic people , it may take some time to get relieved of those symptoms
Another possibility could be some underlying injury, it is better to get an x-ray of ray leg with ankle joint both AP and lateral view to rule out any pathology
It's advisable to consider the expert option of an orthopaedician on this.
Please check with your physician if he shares my view. Post your further queries if any. Thank you
