How Can Pain And Swelling In The Leg Be Treated?

1-1/2 weeks ago I hit my shin and have a bruise to my lower shin area and is swollen Am diabetic so went to see doctor. he gave me antibiotic pills (doxycycline hyclate 100mg). lower leg still hurting and changing color where bruised and swelling going to my ankle.

I have worked through your query in detail.

I could understand that your bruise and swelling has not relieved with the course of antibiotic, so there is a possibility that in diabetic people , it may take some time to get relieved of those symptoms

Another possibility could be some underlying injury, it is better to get an x-ray of ray leg with ankle joint both AP and lateral view to rule out any pathology

It's advisable to consider the expert option of an orthopaedician on this.
