Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So a couple of nights ago I coped a shoulder to the nose. Anyway it bled extremely heavily for about 5 minutes. At the time it was a real dull sort of pain. There is no obvious bend in nose, however the bridge of my nose is very swollen and now starting to bruise. My nose is clogged and is to painful to try to remove the snot. There is no resting pain, however when I touch either side of the bridge of my nose a sharp ringing sensation is felt at the end of my nostril on the respective side. Without getting an x Ray is there any way to know what my injury could possibly be. Cheers Daniel Clohesy.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It could be contusions that might causing the pain. Get an X-ray to rule out fracture. As of now you can analgesics like ibuprofen or diclofenac for pain. Apply cold compression. Anti inflammatory drugs like seratiopeptidase can be tried as it reduce the swelling. Even if there is fracture the same management is enough and thus X-ray is not mandatory. If you have symptoms like nose bleeding, consult an ENT doc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
