How Can Pain And Swelling In The Toes Due To An Infection Be Treated?
Hello, I ve had multiple surgeries on my left foot due to massive infection. I ve been out of hospital for @ 2 weeks an this last week, my pinkie toe has gone very swollen, purple and now my toenail looks like its died an ready to fall out. The pain is quite intense. Should I go back to the hospital E.R. where I was cared for?
The symptoms seem to be related to recurrent infection. The treatment may consist of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication. I suggest going to the emergency room for further evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
