Hello,
I would like to give some tests:
1. Electrodiagnostic testing (
electromyography and nerve conduction velocity)
2. Wrist USG
3. Test for
rheumatoid factor and anti-citrullinated protein antibodies
4. Complete Blood Count
I would like to ask you:
1. is there any numbness or tingling sensation?
2. is there any swollen part in any other areas?
Although I suspect this is from injury, I take no risk and check all other parameters which can cause swollen wrist.
Now, I will give you treatment:
1.
Ibuprofen as needed
2.
Paracetamol as needed.
You can use these two drugs alternatively.
Also follow these guidelines:
1. Rest the joint 2. Ice the injured area to reduce swelling 3. Compress the swelling with an
elastic bandage 4. Elevate the injured area. Do not worry. It will take a few days to weeks.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
