Suggest Treatment For Soreness On Wrist

Right wrist has been a little sore lately. Yesterday tried to shift, pick up one end of a lounge chair to shift it and immediately my right wrist gave way so dropped chair. Today wrist slightly stiff and slight pain on right wrist on the right side of that wrist. Only pain if I try to lift something too heavy when the wrist will give way. Generally I can move/ twist the wrist around without pain. Was thinking of going to chemist to see if a wrist support bandage may help? Thoughts on problem? .......................DS Adelaide

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Wrist pain is often caused by a sprain. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the pain. I also suggest using cold compresses at the area. If the symptoms continue, I suggest to use a bandage to maintain the area immobilized.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
