How Can Pain And Weakness In The Left Leg Be Treated?

I have chronic sciatic pain, causing weakness in my left leg. It is hard to stand or walk any distance. Epidural shots have not worked; physical therapy has helped a little (temporarily) and medications offer very little in the way of relief. A friend suggested chiropractic. What do you say?

General Surgeon 's  Response
If you have chronic Sciatic pain, you need to get an MRI of your lumbo-sacral spine. In case of cord or nerve compression, surgery may be required to relieve the pressure on the nerve. This will also improve the leg muscle strength. After surgery, you may continue with physical therapy.
