Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. Pain around a tongue piercing is normal after effects of piercing specially in first 3-6 days its normal. After 5th - 6th day also you may experience white colored secretion as well as swelling. Full healing take usually 10- 14 days. Chances of infection are very less in mouth because of salivary enzyme which will kill bacteria. But if this swelling continues and you have difficulty in breathing, swallowing even after that you need not to remove your jewelry rather you should go to your cosmetic experienced or medical professional. apply ice to lessen pain and
avoid eating hot and spicy food stuff as they may get caught on tongue piercing area. Chin and neck pain is due to high pressure applied while piercing. Do saline rinses with little warm water 3 times a day. Don't take alcohol, smoke as all these will alleviate your symptoms.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
