Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i have pain in the back of my knee. I can t bend my leg It hurts to sit downed bend the knee. I am 59 years old. I have never had a problem with my knees. The pain started one week ago. I stood up after lunch at the table and my knee cap popped. should i ice it? go get X-rays?
The symptoms mentioned by you probably indicate arthritis of knee joints. You need to get X-rays of knee joints. It's better to consult an orthopedic specialist for expert evaluation on this. A short course of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines may bring improvement in pain but any medicine must be started after doctor's consultation only.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ajay Panwar,
