How Can Pain Due To UTI Be Treated?

i took my daughter to the hospital e.r. early this morning in pain they said she had a uti they gave her a percocet after a hour she was still in pain they gave another percocet and said it should start working in about 30 minutes to a hour. then gave antibotic. then discard her she was still in was pain. they gave a prescription for antibotic no pain medicine. she had medicine before that didn't help it was hydrocodone/acetaminophen5-325 tb

Hi,

The pain from UTI usually indicates underlying inflammation of the urinary system with or without calculus in the urinary system.

If the given analgesic is not giving satisfactory pain relief, she must have
- intravenous pain injection
- plenty of liquids
- urinary alkalizer.

Discuss the need of ultrasound of abdomen and pelvis for further management guidelines.
