Hello,

The bone spurs are the additional growth at the end plate of the bones. The medicine you mentioned Tizanidine HCL may be helpful for reducing the pain by releasing the spasm in the muscles.

Since you had a surgery for spinal stenosis in the past along with degenerative disc disease, I will advise you to do exercise which will help reduce the pain by elevating the pressure over the bone and improving the muscle strength.

Usually, due to the weakness of the spinal muscles which gets fatigued faster by having a lack of the muscle fiber strength, there is the growth of bone spurs and this acts as a protective mechanism for avoiding abnormal major symptoms.

Exercise to help increase the joint space, improve muscle strength, stability is here - core stability exercise, spinal muscle strengthening exercises, hip muscle strengthening exercises, lower limb strengthening exercises. Also, neck strengthening exercises and inter-scapular muscle strengthening exercises should be involved. This will be helpful to avoid pain and muscle spasms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
