How Can Pain In The Ankles Be Treated?

I fell 4 months ago and when I did my foot got caught and my ankle was stretch out. There was no swelling. Everytime I move my ankle around it has sharp pains and it hurts all the time. Can you give me a idea what I did to it and what I can do for it? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is likely that you injured ligaments in the ankle joint. There are certain degrees or severity of injury of the ligaments.

Though the injury is likely ligamentous, an x ray is needed as part of the assessment.
Additional treatment would include physiotherapy and anti inflammatory medication such as naproxen or ibuprofen.

Physiotherapy to exercise and strengthen the muscles/ligaments in the area would be very important

I hope this helps
