Hello, about 2 and half weeks ago I fell getting out of my shower. I had one leg in the shower and one leg out and the one leg that was in the tub slipped and my knee bent completely back. Since then my knee has been hurting no matter if I am sitting or standing. It hurts at the back, sides and middle of my knee. I also can not put pressure on my knee. I have tried ice, ibprofin and wrapping with ace bandage and nothing is helping. Sometimes the pain does go to my ankle as well. I don t know what I did but whatever I did it hurts! Any advice on what I have done?
Hello and welcome to CHM. The condition you described may be due to meniscal tear or ligament injury of the knee accompanied by blunt trauma to your back. What I recommend is ,you will need to do an X Ray of knee joint Give rest to knee by putting a brace around it. Limit the movements of the joint. Apply Ice compress for 20 minutes every 2-3 hours to knee and back. Sit with your leg elevated upon pillow while sleeping or sitting. X ray as well as physical examination will help in confirming the diagnosis and severity. If the pain has still not reduced due to above conservative measures ,you need to visit an orthopaedician to do above mentioned investigations and if needed surgery can be done. Thanks and regards.
