Greetings from health care magic members,
I have understood your query.
Ear pain can be related to multiple pathological conditions but if you experience ear pain along with jaw pain when chewing hard food, it indicate dental problem or could be a temporomandibular (TMD) joint problem.
If you also suffering from other symptoms such as jaw getting stuck in open or closed position, clicking or popping sound or trouble chewing food due to improper fitting of teeth,
tiredness in jaw muscles etc then you might have TMD problem.
For now, i would suggest you to avoid biting on hard food, avoid chewing gums, yawning with full mouth open. Also, massage the affected area with warm cloth soaked in water and take pain killer such as
acetaminophen. Later, go to
ENT specialist or a oral maxillofacial surgeon to rule out TMD or any other dental problem. By clinical examination, it can easily be ruled out if the problem is related to jaw or its because of
ear infection.
Hope that answers helps. Please do no hesitate to ask if you have any other query
regards,
Dr. Khoja
