How Can Pain In The Hand After An Injury Indicate?
my brother fell and jammed his hand on my steps. he immediately developed pain (he had none before this event). when he saw a hand specialist doctor - he told him the x-ray showed arthritis. he gave him a cortisone shot which did nothing for my brother. now he is suggesting surgery which he described as removing several bones from his hand/wrist area (base of thumb). I can t find this type of information on webmd. should my brother get a second opinion from a different hand specialist?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The arthritis is an accidental finding after injury. I do not agree with the current opinion of the consultant, you must seek second opinion for the same.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
