Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Pain In The Hip Joint After Hip Replacement Surgery Be Treated?
I have soft tissue pain issues I have had two hip replacement surgeries and for the last 18 months I have had a lot of pain in the area where the joint was replaced. Orthopaedic Surgeons have determined that the joint is not the problem. I tolerate pain well my last root canal I had without any pain medicine and I will have to admit this soft tissue pain I am experiencing is far worst than the root canal pain. What can you recommend
1. Whats your age
2. For what reason you got your hip replaced what I mean to know is your exact diagnosis
3. Do your soft tissue pain is right from the time of surgery or develops later on
4. Have you undergone physiotherapy sessions post surgery
5. Is your recovery period is uneventful?
I will suggest you to a range of motion exercises of your hip joint along with hot fomentation as soft tissue stiffness is the most common cause of joint pain postoperatively.
So what you need to do is stretch your muscles as much as possible.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Jaideep Gaver, Orthopaedic Surgeon
