How Can Pain In The Knees Be Treated?

My wife recently had ankle surgery to replace a torn ligament using artificial components and metal screws. She is using a knee scooter to remain somewhat ambulatory. According to her, pain has been tolerable, controlled with Tylenol every 4-6 hours. Over the past day and a half she has complained of the Inability to remember how to complete mundane tasks (such as zipping up a jacket), problems with coordinating eye-hand movements (such as picking up objects on a table); lack of depth perception and muscle weakness. I have had to help her navigate on the knee scooter; for example, advising her which way the scooter needs to turn to avoid objects. Please advise of possible diagnoses. Thank you
