How Can Pain In The Left Leg Due To A Blood Clot Be Treated?

a blood clot was found in my left thigh and I m on xaretol just under a week, I m having so much leg pain I want to know how long does the pain last being on the med. and I put heat to the leg and that is the only thing that helps. I have never had a clot before, I cant walk to far right now with out a lot of pain. I need to know if being on this med will help to improve things. And is it ok or not to wear a compression sock.
