Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How Can Pain In The Lower Back On The Right Side Be Treated?
I have pain in my lower right back, muscle weakness in my legs, hips, knees. Climbing stairs or inclines is very hard. My lower back gets extremely stiff after sitting even half hour, often making me limp when I walk until I get loosened up . Sometimes I get jumpy muscles in my legs, especially the right leg, making it really hard to relax or sleep. I haven t had any injury to my back but I do have a herniated disc. Is there some reason that I would have increasing weakness in my lower body? I also have bleeding under the skin that the Dr said was caused from medication. The only medication I take is Exedrin migraine. thank you in advance.
You have been diagnosed as having a prolapsed lumbar intervertibral disc. This can cause cord and nerve compression and lead to the symptoms you are experiencing. Since it is causing you much discomfort, and affecting your sleep, I suggest you get the prolapsed disc removed by minimal access surgery. This will remove the compression to the nerves and the cord, and relieve you of your back pain and lower limb pain.
