How Can Pain In The Neck, Shoulders And Upper Arm Be Treated?
Fell down the stairs over a month ago. Had 2 prior neck surgeries/ORIF anterior & posterior and continue to have neck and arm pain/myelopathy. Continued severe neck pain, upper shoulder, and increased upper arm weakness and pain in the upper shoulder area when I try to do things. Much pain if I try to raise my arm. Aot of difficulty now to bath due to increased weakness and pain since falling.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Since you are having history of fall down, possibility of musculoskeletal injury is more likely for your pain. So first consult orthopedic doctor and get done clinical examination and x ray and MRI of shoulder joint. You might be having injured ligament or muscular tear. So avoid movements causing. Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Apply warm water pad on affected areas of shoulder. Take painkiller and muscle relaxant drugs like ibuprofen and thiocolchicoside. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
