How Can Pain In The Palm And Wrist After An Injury Be Treated?

I fell 12 days ago, landing with both hands out, skinned a knee and hit my shoulder and cheek. I seemed ok, just bruised, so didn t see a dr. But my left lower part of my palm, the base of my thumb and my wrist are still hurting. Nothing ever swelled up or showed any bruising. But even now, if I used my hand much, the base of my thumb feels like it s burning. Not sure if I should just let it heal on its own, or need to have it looked at.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

If there is no swelling, and all the movements of your thumb are normal, then nothing is serious. It would take some time and heal itself. However, in such cases, we generally advise giving rest to that part. If it very painful or any obvious deformity then u can go to get an X-ray done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
