General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would like to tell you that since you have Rheumatoid Arthritis the pain can be attributed to it. You have not mentioned whether you are taking any medication s for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Only Calcium and Vitamin D will not give you relief.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease which not only affects your bones but also other organs like heart, kidney, eyes et cetera. It has to be treated with appropriate medications.

I would advise you to consult your physician and get yourself assessed properly. Most common drugs used to treat Rheumatoid Arthritis are Hydroxychloroquine , leflunomide and Methotrexate. Sometimes Prednisone is also substituted.

These are all prescription drugs and need proper monitoring. For temporary relief, you can take over the counter painkiller like naproxen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nazma Amman
