Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I broke my collar bone when I was around 7 or 8 years old. My collar bone was not set properly and was always slightly higher on the right side. Recently my collar bone went back into place at the age of 55. I am experiencing shoulder pain, quite intense pain when I lift my arm outward. Pain is located on top of my shoulder. Any thoughts?
If the collar bone at present is joint end to end, and not malunited, then initial period of rest to the arm with infra red or such heat therapy will slowly resolve the pain. Once that happens, you can start with exercises like rotating the shoulder joint to increase joint movement. Later if you feel so, muscle strengthening exercises of the shoulder area can be done.
