How Can Pain In The Shoulder Be Treated?

I have had right shoulder pain since friday. It happens when i take a deep breath or burp. On friday i also had lower right( below ribcage) pain. That did go away and now is back slightly less than before. The pain in my shoulder does not get worse with movement. It felt better when I woke up this morning and as soon as I stood up and started getting around, it started hurting again. Is this gas or something else?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

From your description of symptoms what I feel is that the pain in your right shoulder is not due to any pathology in shoulder. It is due to right diaphragm irritation. It can be due to inflammation or infection on the liver or any collection over the diaphragm from the lung. Similar symptoms can occur if you have an inflamed gallbladder.

Since you have your symptoms on standing straight it can be due to lung pathologies like lower lobe lung consolidation or collection.

Kindly consult a physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Meera Rajeev
