How Can Pain In The Thighs Be Treated?

A month ago I was on a ladder and missed a full step. I am 64 and I have had severe pain on the inside of my inner thigh that it keeps me from walking at times. I have had an x-ray but my doctor said everything OK. If I turn my foot towards the outside it hurts but able to walk with pain. If I turn my foot forward to take a step, I cannot stand the pain. Do you think I need an MRI?
