Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 41 years old, female, and no major health conditions. I take synthyroid because I do not have a thyroid and I had a complete Hysterectomy about eight years ago and I do not take anything for that. The last two days I have been having discomfort and some pain in my abdomen (upper). It is constant and achy with pulses of stronger disconforts. I have tried Miralax because I thought maybe I was constipated, but I am not. What could this be and what should I do? Thanks, Nicole
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Pain in the upper may hbe due to many medical condtions. The treatment of this conditions depends on the underlying cause.Possible causes may include: -Gastritis/GERD -Respiratory pathologies -Digestive disorders like infection, indigestion.... -Liver/gallbladder issues -And others Only a clinical evaluation may help to identify the cause.I will suggest you see the Doctor for examination.Depending on the findings on physical examination, tests may be requested like abdominal ultrasound, endoscopy, h pylori, stool exam, liver function tests....Your treatment will depend on underlying cause. Hope this will help Wish you good health
