Hi, my job requires me to do physical work such as lifting heavy things, shoveling, repetive motion kinds of acitivites too. Recently my left side, under my shoulder blade has been extremely painful. I have been getting some tingling down my arm and fingers. It is extremely uncomfortable sleeping. This has happened before and did get better but this time it seems worse. I have been taking motrin a few times a day and using a hot compress as well as massaging the area. Nothing seems to be helping. What is the best way to treat my pain?
Hello there. I have read through your question and would like to tell you that your shoulder pain may be due to muscle spasm or cervical spondylosis you have developed due to lifting of heavy weight s and overuse. First of all you need to give that arm rest and refrain from lifting any heavy weight s for a few days. Apply cold compress and take a painkiller like aceclofenac to relieve pain. Do stretching exercises and try to keep the arm elevated .I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
