How Can Painful Muscle Cramps In The Lower Left Back Be Treated?

I have suffered from painful muscle cramps in my lower left back for over 4 days now. Things seem to be going OK, and out of nowhere, a cramp comes and literally takes my breath away. I have tried heat/cold, and even borrowed a friends TENS unit for 2 days. It seems to be worse at night when I try to relax.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

This back pain might be a neuromuscular irritation or a nerve injury of the spine. It seems like only heat and ice therapy, isn't enough to relief the pain. I suggest you to take anti-inflammatory drugs, such as Ibuprofen and Naproxen daily for some weeks. If the pain doesn't improve or gets worse you should consult a doctor for a physical examination.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
