How Can Painful Osteoarthritis Be Treated?

Hello my husband has bone on bone arthritis which as you know is debilitating. I brought him a IcyHot Smart Relief Tens Therapy to use to relieve some of the pain. However the box has a warning on it that states that this device under any circumstance if you have a cardiac pacemaker. Now my husband does not have a pacemaker but I do. My question is will his using the machine have any affect on me if he use it.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The reason why the machine has that warning is because very likely it releases electrical impulses that might affect the work of a pacemaker if the patient using it has one. If your husband does not have a pacemaker he very likely can use it and is nothing to worry as long as you are not there while he operates with the machine (you don't touch it).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Antoneta Zotaj
