Hi there
Piles/haemorrhoids occur as a result of increased straining during a bowel movement. You therefore need to remedy the
constipation as well.
Try the following:
1. Increase your water intake
2. Increase fresh fruit and vegetables into your diet, avoid highly processed foods.
3. If your bowel symptoms are triggered by dairy products or wheat, avoid these.
4. Try a stool bulking agent like soflax and or a laxative such as
lactulose until your problem is solved by a good diet.
5. Commence a course of probiotics such as LP299v.
To alleviate the haemorrhoids:
Apply a topical aneasthetic like remicaine jelly.
You can insert annusol suppositories or use a steroid/bismuth ointment like scheriproct.
If the haemorrhoids bleed excessively or protrude chronically or become infected, you will have to surgically remove it.
Hope this helps.
