Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes polymyalgia do respond to 15 mg of steroids very well and a dramatic response is the rule, generally we advise such people steroids for about an year or two. After that the diagnosis is sure and your have starting feeling well, we do not advise prolong rest for such patient rather we advise exercise and early back to work, so if I would have been your doctor, my advice would have been to start with your routine works , none of the list of work outs you mentioned is exception.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
